| Island’s Hospice Announced as Chosen Charity for Business EXPO 09 |
 Earl Mountbatten Hospice, the Island’s only hospice has been announced as the chosen charity for Business EXPO 09 at the Isle of Wight College on the 29th and 30th May.
David Cheek, Head of Fundraising at the Hospice said “We are really delighted to have been selected as the chosen charity for Business EXPO 09. We enjoy excellent relations with the business community here on the Island which is incredibly supportive of the work we do, both in cash and in kind – for example Southern Vectis supplies the buses for Walk the Wight and Red Funnel provide special deals for walkers from the mainland.”
Members of the Fundraising team from Earl Mountbatten Hospice will be at Business EXPO 09 throughout the event. This will be a great opportunity for businesses to learn about the various ways they can support the Hospice, including the benefits of tax effective “Give as you Earn” and the weekly Hospice Lottery.
David Cheek concluded “We care for 800 patients on the Island each year, totally free of charge. However we have to fundraise £2.2 million each year to provide that service, so the ongoing support of Island businesses is crucial. We are looking forward to meeting as many business representatives as possible at this event.” |
